Women from Tahrir is a film that follows 4 Egyptian women from different social classes and backgrounds who were all part of the revolution or witnessed it close up. We will follow the women over the course of one year and in that time witness the changes in their their personal and professional lives. What does the future hold for these women? Will they realize their dreams for themselves and their country or will they see one repressive system replaced by another?

Claudia Lisboa
Claudia Lisboa is een Braziliaans/Zweedse filmmaakster woonachtig in Nederland. Ze studeerde scriptwriting aan de Biskops-Arno College-University in Stockholm en behaalde haar master diploma in Literatuur met specialisatie in oud Grieks en Latijn op de Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazilie. In Nederland volgde ze diverse regie-workshops. Claudia spreekt vloeiend Portugees, Zweeds, Engels en Nederlands.
Van 1993 tot 2007 maakte ze vele korte films, waaronder My best friend is dead (4 min. / SVT) en The Assistent (28 min.) . In 2009 kwam haar film Beauty Refugee uit. In deze film portretteert ze haar Braziliaanse familie die geobsedeerd is met plastische chirurgie. 30 van haar familieleden lieten zich door haar broer opereren. Alleen Claudia bleef gespaard. Ze noemt zichzelf een schoonheidsvluchteling en woont in Zweden, verweg van de obsessies van haar familie.
